In February over 230 Year 10 students at Goffs Academy had the opportunity to meet with over 30 national and local companies from a diverse range of industry sectors as part of a careers carousel event organised by YC Hertfordshire.

National Child Exploitation Awareness Day 2020

Wednesday 18 March is National Child Exploitation Awareness Day which encourages everyone to think, spot and speak out against abuse (including sexual abuse) and adopt a zero tolerance to adults developing inappropriate relationships with children or children developing inappropriate relationships with other children.

Year 8 students are challenged to think about how they will navigate their futures

Year 8 students at Goffs Academy recently took part in some of the YC Hertfordshire Services for Young People “Navigate Your Future” workshops where they explored careers, the diversity of the jobs market, skill sets needed for the future job sector, and what steps they need to take in the next few years to identify the career path they want to pursue.

Almost 20 learning providers in Hertfordshire have now signed up to the Quality in Careers Standard, the single national quality award for careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) in schools, colleges and work-based learning, with Investor in Careers, showing continued commitment to providing high quality CEIAG provision to young people.
Traveller Employment Excellence Programme

Hertfordshire is reported in the 2011 census as being the third highest Traveller population in the Eastern region, home to some 53 Traveller sites with approximately 1300 Traveller children between 0 and 19 years of age. Around 35% of schools in Hertfordshire currently have Traveller pupils on roll. Set against this backdrop, we are pleased to be able to share news of an innovative and ground breaking targeted programme, supporting the young Traveller community in the county.
